Brilliant service that evaporates after sale

For me Barker Mills was my first car buying experience, I'd spotted a car on autotrader and went to have a look. Steve and Michelle were helpful, they provided me with all the relevant information, HPI, MOT, got the car out so we could test drive it, they even provided a warranty on the car. Their customer service certainly sold it to me and that was a pleasant experience.

What wasn't so pleasant was Steve's attitude when I told him the starter motor failed, causing me to break down and I wanted to arrange for him to look at it, as part of the 12 month warranty. Steve took a different tone, raised voice, angry, he was adamant I was wasting his time. After alot of pushing by myself he advised me to come over one morning. This negative attitude put me off and I went elsewhere to get the car checked. I wouldn't go back to Barker Mills for this reason. Disappointed.

I have been coming to Barker mills now for around 6 years and I have to say I wouldn't go anywhere else. Both Michelle and Steve are really great people. They always accommodate and I have never had any issues with the services they provide. They are very professional and welcoming and always helpful.

I wouldn’t recommend

I travelled by train from Lincolnshire last April and bought a Focus from Barker Mills. I thought they were very professional, caring and courteous. They even picked me up from the station. Fast forward one month and the shock absorbers went which I got fixed locally due to being so far away. I'm returning for my 4th Car!

I've bought my last 3 cars from Barker Mills and everyone has been spot on! One small problem 10yrs ago was sorted by them at thier cost! NOT everyone..ALWAYS has a good experiece with EVERY purchase we make....albeit a Car..a Holiday...a Meal or anything....and its far too easy to moan and complain! One to avoid

Unless you know a mechanic who can look over the car before buying, then avoid Barker Mills. I wasn't swayed by all the usual sales patter but trusted that the paperwork would tell some truth, however I was wrong. Basic things that should have been picked up and included as advisories as part of the MOT (which Barker Mills carried out) were not included. My usual garage picked these up just from c
