End of a dark chapter
Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience purchasing a used Mitsubishi L200 (SL70 RJZ) from North Star Sussex.
After covering only around 3,000 miles, the vehicle developed serious faults and ultimately became unusable. North Star disputed responsibility and, although I was told an independent engineer would be arranged, an inspection was not ultimately arranged through the dealer. After considerable delay, my finance company took over the process and commissioned its own independent inspection.
That independent engineer concluded that the faults had been developing at the point of sale, were not my responsibility, and that the vehicle had not demonstrated reasonable durability during my ownership. The report identified possible engine replacement, subject to further investigation.
From the faults emerging to the vehicle finally being returned took around seven months. My finance company ultimately upheld my complaint, the vehicle was collected and the financial matters were eventually resolved.
