Considering a VW from Coffins? My advice – think twice.
Bought a new Golf 2.00TDI estate from Caffyns in the autumn of 2013. There's been nothing but trouble ever since. Within the first week, the fuel flap stuck shut requiring a visit to the dealership. Within a year two wheels on one side of the car started delaminating and needed replacement. Six months later the other two suffered the same problem and need replacing. 4 new wheels under warranty. It then took 9 months for VW/Caffyns to address the engine problem regarding emissions – why so long and why no compensation? Finally, within three years of purchase and still under warranty the paintwork on the doors started to delaminate! After many phone calls, Caffyns finally agreed there was a problem but still have no date set as to when this will be serious problem will be rectified. Caffyns NEVER return phone calls. If the vehicle was bought on a lease they would probably offer a better service. If it was bought outright like ours, it's clear they can't be bothered. I have lost patience and vow to never buy ano
