Sold a DANGEROUS car - Dealer just avoiding repair or refund
Bought a VW Touareg, it nearly killed my wife, overtaking a truck, massive bang, car almost stopped, revs going mad, no drive almost rear ended by massive truck behind desperately trying to avoid here, slow lorry on inside passed, she swerved behind it and onto the verge!
Common issue with the gearbox on these cars, too expensive to repair under the stupid warranty I was sold, £1000 limit diagnostics not covered.
Complained to dealer, resistance, took it back for diagnosis, after 2 weeks, no real progress.
I took advice, rejected the car as unfit for purpose, not of satisfactory quality and not superb as described, adding that we were being significantly inconvenienced without the car.
Their response, it was all our fault, the issue wasn't there prior to purchase. Stating if the report shows it was 'down to the overall age / mileage of the vehicle you have purchased then all costs will be passed to yourself. at our absolute discretion.’
