Refused Independent Inspection on LK56 CEX
Having enquired of an Aston Martin Vantage that had unfortunately sold, I was offered another, reg LK56 CEX, by the Garage. As I was buying from overseas, a sight unseen, 12 year old, low mileage high performance car, a degree of due diligence was required. We agreed a price, warranty period and also that I could have the car fully inspected by an independent engineer. From this, I paid a deposit, and the garage agreed to facilitate the inspection.
I rang the day after the engineers inspection was arranged, to be told that they wouldn't after all agree to the inspection, citing the car had been 'over serviced' and there was nothing wrong with it. I tried to point out that buying a 12 year old car sight unseen with nothing other than the dealers word, with only a 6 month warranty would not really meet the requirements of Caveat Emptor.
as a result of this, I began to form a concern that there was an underlying issue with the car. Hodgsons offered me my deposit back, and despite my wish to complete the
