PLEASE! Avoid James Richards Car Sales ??

I strongly urge anyone considering buying a vehicle from James Richards Car Sales to proceed with extreme caution - or better yet, avoid them entirely.

On April 11th, 2025, I purchased an Audi S3 (registration PE16 KNW) from this dealership. Within one hour of taking ownership, the car suffered a complete clutch failure, leaving it entirely undriveable. I was forced to arrange for emergency recovery at my own expense - on the very same day of purchase.

Independent assessments, including one from the AA, confirmed that the clutch was in a severely worn and unroadworthy condition, and that this fault would have been clearly evident at the time of sale. In other words, this car should never have been sold in the first place.

Despite this, James Richards Car Sales took no responsibility whatsoever for the fault. They refused to acknowledge any liability and offered a token £100 compensation, which was both inadequate and frankly insulting. They did not offer proper compensation for the significant financ

Recently brought a car Mercedes A-class from here. The whole purchase was done online. My car was delivered within the time frame promised (48HRS). Very pleased with my new car and happy my old has a new home.

Awful service!!! Was told the car I was buying had no faults and was good for sale. After driving home I then had a Christmas tree on the dash with warning lights and a grinding noise from the front of the car. Contacted them however they were useless saying this isn’t covered by warranty! Was told I’m not allowed a refund at all and I struggled to get an answer out of the so called “phone man”

Shocking service
A deal was made over the phone and appointment made to complete deal. The car was not ready the salesman did not have a clue That tried to knock £1000 off my car which I refused The car I was thinking of buying had not had a service ifor the last 36k miles They would refund my deposit A real back street car sharks Keep well away

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!
My partner&I came in looking at a car, staff appeared friendly and any questions could answer. Happily took out for a test drive. We noticed a few things wrong and they said they would be sorted. Stay away!
I want to say that I am EXTREMELY disappointed! Bought my smart car For £3500 it has now cost me £700 At a REPUTABLE garage who I always use. Promised a service which wasn’t done! The sump plug has been GLUED in! No idea how that would have passed MOT! At Least I know that the car will be checked properly. Definitely been duped and overcharged . Can be damn sure if i needed a warranty in 3 months

Unprofessional and untrust worthy trader
