Awful Customer Service

Having spent several months looking for an XKR, I visited this company to look at and test drive the model I had been looking for. In trying to discuss the car with the young salesman, he had very little knowledge and kept passing me to the owner Carl, who was very abrasive on the phone. They were reluctant for me to take the car on a test drive without me saying I would agree to purchase it. On the test drive the car pulled under braking and had gearbox noise. On return I mentioned this to the young salesman and questioned if this would be looked at prior to sale. Again he passed me the phone with the owner on who proceeded to tell me all cars of this age have the same problems and I should look at a new car. Having owned and restored several classic cars to become show winners, I found this blunt attitude not only rude but extremely ignorant. I would strongly recommend you look at every other option prior to buying from this garage

His feedback to me was that he found you to be demeaning and somewhat intimidating. He did try his very best to answer ALL of your questions but being that he is only 20 years old with 1 year of experience in the motor trade he felt compelled to call me for some guidance on my day off. Upon speaking with you myself I realised that you were a customer with many questions, even for me with over 20 years Motor Trade experience. I was not rude to you, just honest and frank. There is no gearbox issue with this vehicle, one of the tyres has lost some pressure due to being in storage for some time, hence if there was a slight pull on the steering. With your search into its 8th month with many test drives under the belt, I doubt if what you are looking for actually exists. Kind regards, Westwell Jones Ltd

How do you expect to be taken seriously?

I can see that this dealer has many good reviews. Looking at the less than good reviews, I see what I experienced at their garage today. I've had several very nice cars including a couple of nearly new Porsches and most recently an Audi TTS that I purchased as ex-demo from Audi and kept for five and a half years, only selling on very recently.
